FilmScene Community Screening Event Proposal

Thank you for your interest in partnering with FilmScene to host a screening. We sincerely appreciate you thinking of us.

We receive many worthy requests. Due to limited screen time and obligations to film distributors for new-release programming, we are unable to accommodate all requests. We do our best to fit as much as possible into our schedule, and we review every proposal carefully. The information you provide helps us in our review.

Proposals are accepted on a rolling basis with initial review as they're submitted. Proposals should be submitted a minimum of two months prior to the proposed date. The more lead time, the better.

"Thank you so much! 'A Place at the Table' is such a great film for raising awareness and that's exactly what happened to all who came. The event helped to purchase over 6,800 pounds of food!"

Flexibility is helpful. We may ask you to consider a specific day and time to accommodate our overall film schedule.

Dialogue is our term for any pre- or post-screening activity that deepens audience engagement and film appreciation. Dialogues include film introduction, audience Q&A, panel discussion, live performance, etc. Please provide details about dialogue ideas to pair with your proposed screening.

There are two primary costs associated with producing a screening event at FilmScene:

Screening rights.
Any public film screening, whether free or ticketed, must be properly licensed or otherwise approved by the rights holder.

Licensing fees vary, but typically range from $150-200 on the low end to $400-500 on the high end.We can help determine who holds the rights for a film title and negotiate the fee and film booking for you.

Theater rental.
Our standard rental fee for a film screening with dialogue is $250. The fee is all inclusive: promotional assistance, box office/concession staffing, projectionist, etc.

Depending on circumstances, the fee can in some cases be reduced or waived.

Partnership and Promotion

Please note any partnering groups for the event, and whether or not they have committed to take part. Also, please note any ways in which your organization would promote the event, such as social media, email list (note # of subscribers), hanging posters, newspaper letters or op-ed, etc.
