About the Film:

UNCERTAIN

Directors Anna Sandliands and Ewan McNicol crack the tough exterior of Uncertain, Texas to create an intimate portrait of three unforgettable men on the margins: an ex-con with a spiritual connection to the wild boar he obsessively hunts at night; a young struggling diabetic with big ideas but few prospects; and an aging fisherman reluctantly letting go of his youth and “getting my heart right with God”.

The life of the quirky one-road town, so tucked away “you've got to be lost to find it,” is inextricably tied to the wild, moss-draped lake on which it sits. As the waters come under threat from an invasive aquatic weed, the ninety-four residents of Uncertain face an even more uncertain future. Sandilands and McNicol's humorous and revealing meditation on the fragility of nature, and the nature of man, is captured in vivid, haunting imagery that transports us to an other-worldy corner of America.
