ADMISSION POLICIES

Admission to FilmScene in the Park is free and open to the public. Seating is first-come-first-served for all screenings, with movies typically beginning at sunset. We encourage moviegoers to bring their own blankets and chairs, or purchase a commemorative blanket from us.

CONCESSIONS

FilmScene offers popcorn, movie candy, soda, beer and wine for sale at our outdoor concession stand beginning 30 minutes prior to the film’s start time. Beer and wine can only be purchased in closed containers from FilmScene for consumption in the park. No outside alcohol is allowed. Anyone consuming alcohol must present a valid identification certifying they are 21 years of age or older to receive a wristband allowing purchase and consumption in the park.

SERIES

FilmScene in the Park is presented by Dr. Suzanne Stock, Orthodontist, and serves the goals of both FilmScene and Iowa City Parks & Recreation by providing free cultural activities to thousands of citizens annually. Our park cinema was made possible in 2021 by the transformative Strengthen Grow Evolve campaign, a collaboration with The Englert Theatre, and The City of Iowa City’s Annual Park Improvement and Economic Development funds.
